Celtic are keen on signing Hibernian striker Kevin Nisbet, according to reporter Peter Martin.

The Lowdown: Juranovic move confirmed

The Hoops have been busy in the transfer window this summer and confirmed their eighth signing on the weekend.

Subject to international clearance, Josip Juranovic has penned a five-year deal at Parkhead, with the versatile Croatia international making two appearances at Euro 2020.

It now seems as if Celtic could swoop for another player who turned out at Euro 2020 in Nisbet.

The Latest: Player-plus-cash?

According to Martin on Saturday, Celtic are interested in signing the Scotland international, who has been involved in 30 goals in 51 appearances for his current employers.

The reporter hinted that the Hoops could explore a move which would see Leigh Griffiths heading in the opposite direction, along with cash for Hibs. He tweeted:

“Swap plus cash. I’m told Celtic keen on Kevin Nisbet with Leigh Griffiths and cash going to Easter road. In my view, Griffiths time at Celtic is up and the club are keen to move him out. Will Hibernian bite?”

The Verdict: Striker needed

With Odsonne Edouard into the final 12 months of his Parkhead deal, from the outside looking in it seems a wise move to cash in on the Frenchman and bring in a new forward over the coming days.

OH Leuven’s Thomas Henry, VVV-Venlo’s Georgios Giakoumakis and now Nisbet have all been linked recently, so it appears as if the Hoops are very much aiming to bring in another striker.

Even though Dominic McKay and co have been busy at Parkhead this summer, they may well seek to round off the transfer window neatly with the potential acquisition of the Hibs marksman.
