Celtic: Nick Hammond reaches agreement with Liam Shaw

Celtic have come to a pre-contractual agreement to sign Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Liam Shaw next summer, reports suggest.
Shaw agrees
The 19-year-old has been with the Owls since he was eight years old and has made a name for himself in the first-team eleven years on.
Shaw has been described as a player that “can play anywhere” by former stand-in boss Andy Holdsworth and has been heavily linked with a move to Parkhead for some time, scoring once from 12 Championship appearances this season.
But transfer guru Nick Hammond looks to have made significant progress in Celtic’s pursuit for the 6 foot 2 Shaw, after Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph revealed that a deal has been agreed in advance.
His report added that they will pay £300,000 compensation to Sheffield Wednesday due to him being a product of their academy.

Transfer Tavern Verdict
Shaw is, most certainly, one for the future at Celtic given that he’s only a teenager, and could serve the club for many years.
Of course, this all depends if his player development is nurtured correctly. Pairing Shaw with Celtic first-team regulars Ismaila Soro and David Turnbull, both under the age of 23, the Bhoys are building a competitive, young and hungry squad going forward.
While the 2020/21 campaign has been almost a write-off, supporters have every reason to get excited about next season.
