Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern were excited about Antoine Griezmann and Paul Pogba lining up in Jose Mourinho’s XI next season amid links with the Atletico Madrid man, but they may have to settle for another Frenchman instead: Celtic’s Moussa Dembele.
That is according to reports from the Independent, who claim that the La Liga ace has been ‘deprioritised’ as the transfer window looms large, with the Bhoys starlet a player they are keen on.
Although not a direct alternative, Dembele is supposedly seen as a good prospect by the Red Devils, who believe he could develop into the sort of footballer talked about as a marquee player.
However, he will not come cheap, with the Independent claiming that Celtic will want at least £30m for the 20-year-old, despite snapping him up on a free transfer from Fulham less than 12 months ago.
Dembele has been a huge hit in Scotland, smashing 32 goals in 45 games across all competitions for Brendan Rodgers’ side, who are on course to secure a domestic trophy treble and remain unbeaten in the league and both cups.
Is Moussa Dembele ready for a Premier league move this summer?
