Manchester United fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are pondering the future of their experienced striker after the Daily Mail revealed that Juventus are lining up a £5m bid for Robin van Persie.
The Dutchman, who is in the last year of his contract, could depart Old Trafford this summer as it looks as though Louis van Gaal is keen to freshen up his attacking options.
Van Gaal has a good relationship with the striker and may look to keep him at the club as he is a trusty player who he knows inside out.
Van Persie is expected to plea for his future at United as his family are now settled up north in England.
But despite their strong relationship it is expected that if van Gaal can sign either Edinson Cavani or Gonzalo Higuain then van Persie will be sacrificed.
