Leeds United: Fans react sarcastically after Liverpool score from a corner

Leeds United fans were reacting sarcastically after Liverpool opened the scoring against Manchester United from a corner kick.

Trent Alexandar-Arnold whipped in a cross from the right-hand side with Virgil van Dijk powering a header past a helpless David de Gea, to the shock of supporters. The Yorkshire outfit have had the most corners of any team in the Championship this season, having won 211 (via Footcharts). However, set-piece goals haven’t proved to be a fruitful method of scoring for the side as they’ve only scored five (via WhoScored).

One fan was left ‘stunned’ by the goal from the Dutch centre-half.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side have struggled to score goals in general over the last few weeks, having failed to do so in their last three games across all competitions. The club’s last goal was on New Year’s Day and wasn’t even scored by their a Leeds man as West Bromwich Albion’s Semi Ajayi put through his own net.

Fans were clearly not happy about the club’s lack of goals from corner as they took to Twitter to reat. Here is a selection of tweets from the Elland Road faithful:
