West Bromwich Albion: Fans divided on Sam Johnstone

Plenty of West Brom fans have been discussing goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, with some mixed views on the Baggies goalkeeper.
Twitter channel @BaggiesHQ asked followers if they think the 27-year-old is good enough to be the club’s first choice stopper if they are in the Premier League next season or if Slaven Bilic would need an upgrade.
Does this man have what it takes to be a Premier League goalkeeper with #WBA?

Johnstone, a graduate of Manchester United’s academy and valued at £4.95m by TransferMarkt, has conceded 37 goals in as many appearances this season, keeping 10 clean sheets (27% of games). He has been ever-present for the Baggies in the Championship in 2019/20, with 85 appearances in total for the club since arriving at The Hawthorns two years ago.
He came to the club with the unenviable task of succeeding Ben Foster, who had been Albion’s main man in goals for seven years in the Premier League, keeping 57 clean sheets in his 223 appearances for West Brom (as per TransferMarkt).
Will Sam Johnstone be West Brom's first choice 'keeper if they're in the Premier League next season?
Yes

No

Johnstone, who has yet to feature at top-flight level, is viewed with mixed opinions from these Baggies fans on Twitter. Some feel he would be capable of succeeding with them in the Premier League while others were more doubtful and one supporter called for Foster to be brought back:
He deserves a chance as much as any other player in the squad. He’s still young as well. He could end up excelling if our goal is getting absolutely peppered every game, although we might want to bring in a second choice goalie to push him. Not sure about Bond tbh

I think so, he has the talent and the belief.

He’s got loads of ability. When he had a great season at Villa, you have to remember he had Terry and Chester in front of him, 2 top class, experienced centre halves. A keeper flourishes with that #wba

No. I’d get Foster back with a view to providing him competition and becoming a GK coach after.
