The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are desperate for their side to win a trophy this season…
The Reds finally look back on track under Jurgen Klopp, with success looking destined to return to Anfield after a spell in the wilderness.
Whilst the Premier League remains a distant target, the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup offer genuine opportunities for success this season, and so Jurgen Klopp is likely to put a lot of emphasis on them this term.
Those cups, however, also offer an opportunity for players that don’t typically start each week to get a game – with main players often rested for domestic league fixtures.
With the first game against Leicester City coming up on Tuesday evening, Jurgen Klopp could give a few players that are yet to see regular football this season an opportunity.
That said, Klopp should give these 2 talented Liverpool players a chance vs Leicester City…
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is likely to be a regular first teamer going forward, but at present, he has had to settle for a bit-part role.
That’s likely to change in the coming weeks, but he needs to put in a few good performances if he is to command a starting berth, particularly in central midfield.
A start in the cup is the perfect opportunity for that.
He’ll likely be given free reign to impress against Leicester City, and he needs to start justifying his price tag.
Dominic Solanke

Brought in from Chelsea with much fanfare over the summer, Solanke is yet to really make an impact at Anfield.
He’s certainly got the talent to succeed at his new club, but his age and lack of experience mean that he will be limited to a bit-part role for the time being.
The Carabao Cup could give him a much-needed opportunity to feature from the start, and he needs to grab it with both hands if he wants to make an early impact.
A poacher in front of goal, on his day he is unstoppable.
