Chelsea and Arsenal fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are heading to the bar to get another drink, with talkSPORT revealing that their number one target, Mauro Icardi, is set to sign a lucrative contract extension at Inter Milan.
The forward has been on Jose Mourinho’s radar but the 22-year-old gave his boss, Roberto Mancini, a huge boost as he agreed to sign a new deal before their 1-0 defeat to Fiorentina.
This will see his annual earnings move to £2.2 million on a contract that will last until 2019.
Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool also voiced an interest in the striker as he has bagged 14 goals in 24 Serie A appearances.
