Metro have certainly made Chelsea fans sit up and take note here in the Football Transfer Tavern as they seem to think that Douglas Costa has made a rather favourable admission when it comes to a potential Blues switch.
The Shakhtar Donetsk attacker has been nothing but positive about his suitors who have reportedly made a £16 million bid for him.
The Blues reportedly want to link the creative star up with Brazilian compatriot Willian once more and recreate the profitable partnership from their days spent together at the Donbass Arena.
We think that could well be key to the Blues winning an unprecedented quadruple in the second half of the season.
Costa gushed about his potential employers and claimed: “It would be a dream to play for Chelsea. It’s a unique chance. I will try to negotiate.”
We have to agree that joining Chelsea could well be an opportunity that does not come round again.
That said, given the Blues have been admirers of the player for some time now, we think that if they fail to land him this winter, Jose Mourinho will instruct his board to return in the summer.
