Chelsea fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are still marvelling at the sublime Oscar goal they saw earlier against Stoke City and it seems things are set to get better after the latest claim from Metro.
Our landlord informs us that the publication have claimed that Chelsea have now officially signed the ‘Egyptian Messi,’ Mohamed Salah.
We have spent the week in somewhat of a confused state after we firstly thought the attacking star was on the hunt for a house in Liverpool, then to find out that Chelsea had gone in for him after selling Juan Mata to Manchester United.
As our punters nurse their heads, they note that Brendan Rodgers had not given up on landing the player, and even claimed that he could well be in with a chance still.
Now it seems that is not the case, with Jose Mourinho making it clear that Salah is now a Blue. Mourinho spoke before the FA Cup clash with Stoke and told reporters that Salah had put pen to paper on the move.
This of course means Chelsea have yet more attacking prowess and Liverpool have missed out on another top target – much to the annoyance of their fans, who think that the player could have been landed had the board moved quicker.
