Chelsea supporting punters here in the Football Transfer Tavern are in jubilant mood after reading a report from Spanish publication Fichajes – with the media outlet suggesting that Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani has decided to join Premier League giants Chelsea next season, for £35 million.
As our resident Chelsea fans know, Cavani is a name that has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge numerous times over the last few seasons, with nothing ever seeming to materialise!
However, if reports are to be believed, it seems that the powerful Uruguayan striker is edging closer to a sensational move to Chelsea, in a move that our landlord feels will be fantastic for the London club.
Our landlord here in the Tavern feels that the 28-year-old is a player that would fit in nicely at Chelsea, and with him in the side, the landlord argues that the Blues would undoubtedly become a force again!
A few of our regular Chelsea fans argue that Cavani is reaching the latter stages of his career, and £35 million is pretty extortionate – but, if the 6ft striker can fire the Blues to a Premier League title, it could be one hell of a shrewd buy!
