Although currently sidelined with an Achilles injury sustained in a post-season friendly earlier this year, Ruben Loftus-Cheek is deemed to be one of Chelsea’s most exciting young midfielders, as noted by Football.London back in July.
In fact, the England international only finished behind Eden Hazard in terms of dribbles completed last season (per WhoScored), so he certainly made an attacking impact when fit.
The 23-year-old was just starting to break into the first-team fold at Stamford Bridge when his untimely injury occurred, though with the Blues currently undergoing a major period of transition under manager Frank Lampard, he is expected to be an integral member of the west Londoners’ squad upon his return to fitness.
That said, transfer speculation will always be rife among fans of big clubs and Chelsea are no different. Blues supporters have been quick to call upon their club to bring in reinforcements when their current transfer ban is uplifted next summer, with the likes of Jadon Sancho and Ben Chilwell frequently mentioned as potential new recruits.
However, with all the talk of new players, Chelsea journalist Mark Worrall has been quick to point out that many are forgetting the injured Ruben Loftus-Cheek in their future plans for the club.
Worrall posed a question to Blues fans on Twitter, asking them if Loftus-Cheek gets in their midfield when he’s fully fit – here’s how they reacted:
He has to play when fully fit, offers so much drive from midfield, but how do you fit Mount, RLC, Kante and Jorginho in a team?

One of the first names on the team sheet for me!

If he picks up from his excellent end of season form, he is a special player. Goes straight in for me. Adds goals to a team lacking in them. Him, Kova and Kante 👌

Jorginho, Kante, RLC every game for me.
