Loads of Chelsea fans have been lauding Reece James after ex-Blue Pat Nevin compared the 20-year-old to England legend David Beckham.
Nevin made the comparison following James’ crossing clinic against Burnley, a game where one of his delightful balls from the right flank found Tammy Abraham, who headed home as Chelsea went on to claim a 3-0 win.
Supporters have absolutely lapped it up, and you cannot blame them. James’ crossing really has been impressive this season. According to WhoScored, he is currently averaging just under one cross per game in the Premier League — only Mason Mount (one) and Willian (1.2) are averaging more.
Meanwhile, in the Champions League, he is averaging 1.5. Once again, only Willian (2) can top that. The Beckham comparisons are probably excessive to say the least, but there is no doubting the England U21 international’s crossing ability.

He should start every single game from now onwards. No excuse unless it’s injury. This guy is gold man
