Chelsea: Fans on Twitter don’t want to sign Declan Rice

Reports on Twitter suggest that Chelsea could move for West Ham midfielder Declan Rice when their transfer ban is uplifted next summer, according to EXWHUemployee on Twitter.

Rice, a former trainee at Chelsea, moved across London to West Ham in 2014 and last season broke into the first-team under manager Manuel Pellegrini.

He has since gone on to make 74 senior appearances for the Hammers, scoring twice, per Transfermarkt. Rice’s performances for the east Londoners earned him international recognition last year and he has now started to cement his position in England’s midfield, having switched allegiances from the Republic of Ireland.

The 20-year-old played 90 minutes in both of the Three Lions’ recent Euro 2020 qualifiers against Bulgaria and Kosovo, and looks set to be Gareth Southgate’s chosen holding midfielder moving forward if that’s anything to go off.

His impressive displays for both club and country have seen clubs like Manchester United sit up and take notice, with the source more worried about any interest from the Blues than the Red Devils.
