Chelsea: Fans react negatively after Ross Barkley returns to training

Chelsea fans have been reacting negatively after Ross Barkley returned to full training for Frank Lampard’s side ahead of their Champions League game away to Valencia.

Barkley was back in training after recovering from the ankle injury he picked up in the 1-0 win over Newcastle United back in October (via football.london).

The England international has proved an infamous figure among the Stamford Bridge faithful after he took a penalty off Jorginho and Willian only to miss it in the 1-0 loss to the Spanish side back in September (via The Daily Star).

Following the incident, Frank Lampard came out in staunch defence of his midfielder as he claimed Barkley was the designated penalty taker at the club (via The Telegraph).

However, it seems the fans are yet to forgive the former Everton man as they took to Twitter to react negatively to his return to training.
