Chelsea are reportedly keeping close tabs on Brazilian midfielder Bruno Guimarães, according to GloboEsporte (via Metro).
The Blues apparently sent scouts to watch the 22-year-old in action for Athletico Paranaense in the Copa do Brasil on Wednesday night, as they continue to weigh up a £36m move for the versatile South American.
Guimarães was on target in front of the west London club’s scouts, too, firing home on the 58th minute as Athletico beat Internacional 1-0.
Wednesday night was the fifth time the Blues had sent scouts to watch the defensive midfielder, but he is not thinking too much about the reported interest shown in him by other clubs.
“The interest of other teams, I see that it’s normal when the person has been playing well,” said the 22-year-old after the game.
“I leave that in the hands of my agents. I’m happy at Athletico and focused on the final.”
Chelsea journalist Simon Phillips reported the news that the club had been watching Guimarães for the past year, and that they’re interested in capturing his signature.
It drew some positive feedback from fans of the club on Twitter:
He is a complete midfielder. He can press all game, composed on the ball, scores and assists, can play the long ball and he always finds the left winger with a through ball between the defender and the right back. Always.

Atletico Madrid apparently has a gentleman agreement to sign him. Idk how true that is. Would be class if we do sign him.
