Chelsea: Fans react to Mason Mount’s injury update

Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount has enjoyed a memorable start to his first season in the Premier League.

The 20-year-old has been a key player so far this season having scored three goals already – with his latest effort coming against Wolves on Saturday – but limped off early during the Blues’ 1-0 defeat to Valencia in the Champions League on Tuesday evening with an ankle injury.

There were initial fears that Mount’s injury was serious, with it looking a possibility that he’d be potentially ruled out of action for months.

However, reports on Twitter (via the Athletic) suggest that the England international has escaped serious harm and that scan results showed he has not damaged any ligaments in his ankle, meaning he should be able to return to the fold next week.

He will apparently miss Sunday’s clash against Liverpool, though, which will be a blow for manager Frank Lampard, who has just started to get his young team playing to their full potential in the Premier League.
