Despite initially being placed under a two-window transfer ban, according to the Daily Mirror, Chelsea could be able to resume business when the January transfer market opens.
The Blues are now relying on their younger players to compete for a spot in the top four this term, with the likes of Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham having roles under new manager Frank Lampard so far.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Callum Hudson-Odoi are two more players who could also have roles to play when they return from their respective injuries, with the English duo rated highly at Stamford Bridge.
The former recently signed a new £150,000-a-week contract, while the latter is expected to follow suit, according to The Telegraph.
Languishing in 11th place in the Premier League, the west Londoners could still do with some reinforcements, however, with fans hopeful of their club being able to start trading earlier than expected in January.
Of course, nothing is concrete at all with Chelsea still under a transfer embargo and fans simply just picking out players they would like the club to look at signing.
Nevertheless, here’s how Blues fans reacted to the news on Twitter, including the names of many potential targets if the London club are able to go out and buy players in January…
Sancho , Werner and Koulibaly. Should be our main target. Other than this is nonsense

Someone like Dias, Romagnoli would be better options

Romagnoli is a must, then focus on the attackers in the summer

If we are trying to sign Zaha then I hope we don’t get to sign any players
