Despite missing Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Valencia in the Champions League on Wednesday, Ross Barkley is still being attacked by some supporters.
The 25-year-old, of course, missed a late penalty when the two sides met at Stamford Bridge back in September as Valencia went on to win 1-0.
And it seems Chelsea fans have not forgotten, with some ready to place the blame on Barkley should the Blues not make it to the knockout round of the competition.
Following that 2-2 draw at the Mestalla, victory against Lille at the Bridge in their final group stage game will be enough for Chelsea to qualify for the last 16.
For his sake, Barkley will be desperate for a win and a good performance should he play amid a difficult period in his Chelsea career.
The England international was recently criticised by boss Frank Lampard after being pictured partying topless in a Dubai nightclub.
