Chelsea fans want Kasper Schmeichel to replace Thibaut Courtois if he leaves

Many Chelsea fans are discussing Kasper Schmeichel on Twitter, after Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol revealed that the club are interested in him.

Though perhaps not a very big name, Chelsea’s need for a goalkeeper will be clear if they sell Thibaut Courtois this summer, and Schmeichel is a fairly natural fit.

He is coming off the back of a very solid World Cup for his native Denmark, and his form for Leicester City over the last few years has remained consistent. He even, of course, won the Premier League with the Foxes previously.

At 31-years-old, he’s hardly an option for the long-term, but a deal may make sense for Chelsea if they are left with little other choice.

It seems as though most fans would be interested in seeing him at the club, at least according to supporters on Twitter. They’ve taken to the platform to react, and though Alisson was clearly a loved target by fans, Schmeichel is still popular. Some even think that the Dane would be a better choice.
