Chelsea: Fans want to see Hudson-Odoi feature against Grimsby

One of Chelsea’s most promising young stars, Callum Hudson-Odoi, is yet to feature for the club under new manager Frank Lampard due to an Achilles injury he sustained at the end of last season.

The 18-year-old – who recently penned a brand new deal with the west London club worth £120,000-a-week – could prove to be a hugely influential member of Lampard’s team this time out, especially with the club struggling for creativity in the wide areas following Eden Hazard’s move to Real Madrid in the summer. Indeed, the youngster averaged 3.3 dribbles per game in the Europa League last season and repeating those numbers would see the England international rank highest in the squad this season, getting close to the 3.7 the Belgian produced last term.

Hudson-Odoi scored for Chelsea’s Under-23s at the weekend, as the Blues defeated Southampton 2-0 at St Mary’s. According to the Mirror, the teenager is now poised to make his long-awaited first-team return for the club on Wednesday night, when League Two outfit Grimsby Town come to visit Stamford Bridge in the Carabao Cup.

Unsurprisingly, news of Hudson-Odoi’s potential return has certainly excited these Chelsea fans, who are calling for him to feature against the Mariners following his goal for the U-23s at the weekend:
