Ross Barkley hasn’t had the Chelsea career he’d have liked so far, with him failing to tie down a regular place in the starting 11, no matter who the manager has been. Since moving from his boyhood club Everton in 2018, the 26-year-old has played 63 games for the club in all competitions, and this season he’s made just seven Premier League appearances.
WhoScored has rated his season so far at 6.84/10, and that’s lower than the likes of Jorginho (6.95/10), N’Golo Kante (7.04/10), Mateo Kovacic (6.99/10) and Christian Pulisic (7.08/10). That perhaps signifies why he’s further down the pecking order than he’d like.
The Mirror has reported that David Moyes is keen to bring the Englishman to West Ham on loan, and when Chelsea fan account The Blues posted the report on Twitter, many fans welcomed a move. Some were happy to see him loaned out and some wanted him gone for good, but it’s clear plenty of supporters would rather he left.
