Chelsea: Fans were delighted with Reece James and Callum Hudson-Odoi announcement

Chelsea fans have been jumping for joy on Twitter following Frank Lampard’s admission that both Reece James and Callum Hudson-Odoi will be in the squad for the Premier League match against Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.

Both players played the full 90 minutes against Grimsby Town earlier in the week as the duo made their first senior appearances of the season, with the pair also managing to get on the scoresheet as well (WhoScored).

Indeed, it seems Lampard is ready to give them their opportunity to shine in the Premier League now, which appears to be something many of the Chelsea faithful are looking forward to.

Should James make an appearance, it will be the first time he has ever played in England’s top-flight (Transfermarkt). However, there is a sense of excitement around Stamford Bridge about what he can do following an impressive campaign in the Championship with Wigan Athletic last season – as he scooped three of the top prizes at their awards night.

Hudson-Odoi managed to finally get his opportunity under a reluctant Maurizio Sarri last season, featuring a combined 29 times for the Italian, with ten of those matches coming in the Premier League (Transfermarkt).
