Chelsea have shown respect to Willian’s recent impressive form by posting a throwback clip of his goal against Crystal Palace in 2016.
He could hit them then and he is still hitting them now. Willian has been one of Chelsea’s key players since the restart and could well play a huge part in ensuring the Blues get Champions League football next season.
Since football resumed, the Brazilian has scored five goals in five appearances, including the winning penalty against Manchester City in their 2-1 victory last month (via Sofascore). Willian also supplied Ross Barkley with the assist to net the only goal of Chelsea’s FA Cup quarter-final clash with Leicester.
Should Chelsea offer Willian a new contract?
Fans are clearly impressed with his current form and several are now imploring the club gives him a new contract.
If the 31-year-old doesn’t sign a new deal, he will leave the Bridge this summer as a free agent. If the club want to see him stay, they must act fast before the Premier League concludes.
Willian first signed for Chelsea in 2013 from Anzhi Makhachkala (via BBC Sport). His seven years with the club have seen him contribute 63 goals and 60 assists. He has also helped his side win the FA Cup, Europa League and two Premier League titles (via Transfermarkt).
The Blues are currently preparing to take on Crystal Palace once more – could Willian replicate his stunning strike from four years ago this evening?
