Frank Lampard is confident of landing more summer signings as he looks to bridge the gap between Chelsea and the league leaders.

Liverpool and Manchester City led the Premier League this season, with the Reds coming out on top after a blistering run. Now, Chelsea are hoping to add their name to the race for next campaign’s title.

Lampard has already started to pave the way by adding Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner to the club’s ranks. Major target Kai Havertz looks set to be headed to Stamford Bridge, following a report from David Ornstein of The Athletic.

Speaking to the Evening Standard, the Blues icon has opened up on his plans for the summer as the season rounds off.

“With what we do in the summer, there will be more to come,” Lampard said. “We are working towards something. It doesn’t come easy. We have seen that with other teams in recent years. It is step by step. We have shown lots of good stuff this year.”

Steven Gerrard Liverpool

Gerrard made more appearances for Liverpool than Lampard did for Chelsea, true or false?

Chelsea had to endure a transfer ban which stretched across two windows after breaching rules regarding youth players (via BBC Sport). The ban was lifted in February and the club has wasted no time in getting themselves back on the market and poaching some of Europe’s best.

The Blues were successful in their most recent outing which saw them beat Manchester United in the FA Cup semi-final. Chelsea will partake in a London derby to decide the final, as they prepare to take on Arsenal.
