According to The Times, Chelsea are keeping an eye on Eric Dier’s situation at Tottenham with our resident Blues and Lilywhites fans here in the Transfer Tavern locked in heated discussion because of it.
The Spurs fans here by the bar need little winding up from the Chelsea fans at the best of times so this story hasn’t helped matters at all.
They’re not happy seeing the Blues leading the Premier League table at the moment whilst the fans here of the Stamford Bridge club are more than amused with how they are reacting to their jibes.
Someone else who isn’t happy, reportedly, is in fact Dier due to a lack of playing time at White Hart Lane this season.
Indeed, he’s found himself behind Victor Wanyama and Mousa Dembele in the pecking order for central midfield with a lot of his minutes coming at centre half in light of Toby Alderweireld’s injury earlier this season.
The Belgian is back fit now, though, and Dier is finding it hard to win a place.
Our landlord couldn’t see him playing much at Chelsea either, though, at the moment and reckons he may as well stay at Spurs and fight for his spot.
