Chelsea are closing in on their man as they accelerate their interest in top summer target Kai Havertz.
According to SportBild (via Sport Witness), Stamford Bridge is seemingly the only likely destination for the Bayer Leverkusen star, who has made it known that he wants to leave the club ahead of next season. Despite interest from the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester United, SportBild believes everything ‘points to an agreement with Chelsea’.

The 21-year-old has been instructed by the Bundesliga outfit to remain on their roster until the end of their Europa League run. Leverkusen have also been unwilling to shift on their initial mammoth asking price of €100m (£90.4m), but Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia is looking to lower the fee.
She is reportedly preparing a ‘concrete offer’ to get the deal for Havertz over the line and the report from SportBild has claimed it to be in the region of €70m (£63.3m).
Given the current financial climate and the midfielder making it clear that he wants to move, Leverkusen could settle for a lower amount so as to not risk the deal falling through. Once it is complete, Havertz would join fellow Germany internationals Antonio Rudiger and recent signing Timo Werner at Stamford Bridge.
