Our Chelsea fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hoping that this summer the club can have a more positive transfer window, rather than the past two tragedies they have had to experience.

Antonio Conte has had a terrible start and middle of the season so far, and both are on the back of two poor transfer windows. A lot of uncertainty surrounds Stamford Bridge so far, and our punters feel like change is on the horizon.

However, a change of manager surely just keeps in type with what Chelsea have been doing for many a year, so our regulars would like to see the players for once be turfed out. In a bid to overhaul the squad for next season, our landlord thinks that Conte should play it safe with some Serie A recruits he should know from his days with Juventus.

With that in mind, he takes a look at THREE individuals that could turn the tide at Chelsea and possibly bring in a new era…

Nicolas

The 29-year-old Brazilian is currently with Italian side Hellas Verona and is an ever-present in the team. With the constant rumours surrounding Thibaut Courtois and his potential move to Real Madrid, Conte would be a wise man to start creating a shortlist of keepers.

Nicolas has been one of the best performers in Serie A this season and, would bring a wealth of experience with him to the club.

Milan Škriniar

Milan Škriniar is 23 years of age and currently playing for Inter Milan, where he’s impressing despite all of their inconsistencies. He’s a tough tackling defender who likes to get the ball down and play from the back, something that’d suit him at Stamford Bridge. The Slovakian would be an ideal replacement for Gary Cahill and he also has an eye for a goal in the opponents’ box.

Škriniar has been an ever-present fixture in the Inter Milan side this season in the league and Conte would do well adding him to a re-vamped backline.

Ciro Immobile

The Italian forward is in sparkling form this season with his 31 goals in 31 games across all competitions, spearheading Lazio’s attack. Immobile has also added eight assists to his efforts, making him one of the most exciting forwards in Europe.

He’s deadly in the air and within earshot of the goal but his defensive contributions let him down. Although like many say in the bar, who cares if he’s bagging you a goal a game. While Chelsea have just recruited a centre-forward in Olivier Giroud, another quality striker wouldn’t go a miss.
