Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are encouraged by news in the Daily Express as they claim that Chelsea have contacted the agent of Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos.
The Spanish international’s current contract expires in 2017 and Chelsea are preparing a summer raid for the Spanish international defender.
He has already turned down Los Blancos’ new contract offer as he wants to be paid the same as his fellow team-mates such as Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema.
The 28-year-old is keeping his options open and he may be attracted towards a move to London after Jose Mourinho previously purchased Diego Costa, Cesc Fabregas and Filipe Luis from La Liga.
Mourinho will also hope he can capitalise on the fact he has previously coached Ramos during his time as Madrid boss.
But despite these factors potentially being in Mourinho’s favour, he will face stiff competition for Ramos’ signature from Manchester United and Arsenal.
But before the Premier League clubs get too excited, Ancelotti will hope he can end all speculation by getting him to sign a new contract.
