Chelsea: Tammy Abraham contract talks at risk of collapsing as forward hits out at teammate

Tammy Abraham is reportedly unhappy with the fact he is earning less than teammate Callum Hudson-Odoi.

According to Football Insider, the England international feels he should be earning more than the winger, who is currently on £120,000 per week. Hudson-Odoi is three years the striker’s junior and has made just seven starts in the Premier League this season.

Abraham, who is valued at £36m, was an almost ever-present part of Frank Lampard’s team before injury struck. He has played 43 matches overall for the Blues this season, including 32 Premier League appearances (via Transfermarkt).

The report states that Abraham’s camp are ‘growing impatient’ with the stalled contract talks and there are fears they ‘could collapse’.

The 22-year-old has scored 16 times for Chelsea so far this term, whereas teammate Hudson-Odoi has found the back of the net just once. The winger has a total of 31 appearances this campaign, but any minutes earned since the restart have all been cameos (as per Transfermarkt).

Hudson-Odoi was even demoted to the U21 league for two games this season which is not the sign of a player who is valued enough to be a first team regular.

According to Spotrac, Abraham is currently earning slightly more than £57,600 per week. He is contracted at the Bridge until 2023 but is hoping to finalise a new long-term deal with the club, providing the wage situation is addressed.
