With less than two weeks to go until the summer transfer window closes, Chelsea have a lot of work to do. Maurizio Sarri’s men have looked good during pre-season, but the real task lies ahead.
Indeed, last season was a poor one for the Blues, and a new manager – or indeed, simply a few new faces – will not be enough to make things better.
What Chelsea need is a strong end to the summer, with at least a few major new names coming in.
Reportedly set to cost around £65 million, Pulisic would be a very costly signing – but he also could be a very lucrative acquisition off the pitch.
He’d go down as the most expensive American transfer ever, and he’s also quickly emerging as a poster boy in American soccer. Naturally, then, for Chelsea – the marketing implications of a deal could be huge, not to mention his pace and technical quality on the field.
Unsurprisingly, then, Chelsea fans would love for the deal to go ahead, and many have taken to Twitter over the last day or so to call for him to move to the club.
Take a look at what they’ve had to say below…
Christian Pulisic to C'mon @chelseafc let's make it happen a fantastic lad #cfc

Pulisic is a business deal purely for marketing by Chelsea and I’m all for it as it gets our team to American viewers as they dub him as their big star #CFC

So. Pulisic is available. In a perfect world @ChelseaFC would put up whatever BVB want for him and wrap this up by Tuesday (think Barca-Malcom fast) but knowing my club, the reality is we definitely bottling that. Definitely. #CFC

Would love to have Christian Pulisic at Chelsea but this is Chelsea. So if Dortmund want €50m for him, we will bid €49.5m and he will end up somewhere else.
I’d be very shocked if we pulled that off. #CFC #transferwindow #BVB

#CFC Signing Pulisic:
– Millions of new fans
– New US based sponsorship deals
– Money from new sponsors to sign better players
– Replaces aging and inefficient Willian pic.twitter.com/JNJQWxF3SK— CFC Babble (@CFCbabble) July 29, 2018
I would take the risk and sign Christian Pulisic for £65M. #CFC pic.twitter.com/LeDOKIjGIu
