City and Chelsea Clash with Inter Over Real’s £56m World Player of the Year

Inter Milan are said to be sending scouts to assess the fitness of Real Madrid play-maker Kaka ahead of a possible loan deal.

Il Corriere dello Sport has claimed that the Italian Champions have assembled a team of chiefs to travel to Madrid to watch Kaka’s return to action.

This will almost certainly alert officials at Manchester City and Chelsea, who have both previously been heavily linked with moves for the Brazilian superstar.

Chelsea would be favourites to land the Brazilian, who, according to the Daily Mail, is anxious to reunite with former manager Carlo Ancelotti whom he spent many successful season’s with at AC Milan. However, The Independent are reporting that it was only the influence of former Real Madrid misfit Robinho that stopped Kaka joining City in January 2009 in a deal worth over £100million.

Kaka has struggled to make the impact expected during his time at the Bernabeu and Real may be willing to let the player go on loan for half a season to re-find his form and increase his value.

The arrival of Leonardo to Inter is said to be the catalyst for such a move from the Italians, however, on Monday, Ernesto Bronzetti, an agent that holds very close ties with Madrid, said any proposed move to Inter was unlikely.

Though at the same time, the Daily Mail have reported Bronzetti believes Kaka is “90 percent” certain to join Chelsea should he be unable to revive his La Liga career with Real.

‘Kaka will not join Inter – I am sure of it,’ said Bronzetti.

‘Inter will not make these types of investments. Kaka cost €70m (£56million) and now they won’t demand under €50m (£43m).’

But when asked if any move was inevitable he said, ‘(Inter) have a ruthless competitor called Chelsea. If he were to leave in June, he has a 90 per cent chance of going to Chelsea and not Inter.’

Kaka has been out following an operation on his knee in the summer and is now close to a return for Madrid. Should he set the world alight, it is unlikely Kaka will leave at all. Real Madrid president, Perez, is know for his stubborn nature and will be unwilling to want to sell a player that cost such a phenomenal price without giving him enough time. So, unless a monster bid is made, it is unlikely the 28-year-old will leave at all, that said, a loan deal may still be possible whilst the former ‘World Player of the Year’ re-finds his form.
