Manchester City will this week take the initiative in the race for the talented Crystal Palace youngster Victor Moses, having planned a bid for the 19-year-old striker, The Daily Mail understands. It is believed that the youngster is destined to leave Selhurst Park this month and given the financial problems of the cash-strapped club, Palace have slapped a £5 million price tag on his head.
The Nigerian-born Englishman has been with the London club since 2004, having worked his way through the ranks in South London. Moses is a powerful forward with technical ability and a natural eye for goal. His 50 goals in one season for the youth side caught the eye of manager Neil Warnock and he has since slowly forced his way into the first team.
This campaign, Moses has lead from the front for Palace, scoring 5 times already, including an overhead kick against Barnsley. The South Londoners have only received a £1.5 million bid from West Brom yet are said to be holding out for their £5 million valuation given their financial issues. New Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini is looking to make wholesale changes at Eastlands and Moses’ name is just one of the many that has been linked with a move to City. A deal could be easily agreed between the clubs, with Moses clearly willing to leave. The fee would be a drop in the ocean to City’s lavish billionaires.
