Palace fans here in the Tavern are looking to the future, with prospects of a new stadium looking to overshadow the current mess they find themselves in.
Our fans here in the Tavern have been putting their futuristic goggles on today, with the club posting a feed of stories and developments in relation to their plans to re-develop Selhurst Park to a 34,000 all-seater stadium, with a planning application due to be launched at the end of January 2018.
Since becoming the Eagles’ home back in 1924, Selhurst Park has been the stomping ground for many of the club’s most historic moments, from their lowest point in the Football League Division Three South, all the way up to their journey into English top-flight.
However, for a side that’s relied heavily upon their home form with 9 out of the 10 points being at Selhurst Park, now to find themselves in a relegation fight, this could spell the wrong time for a stadium re-development with the Championship perhaps being the first league to lay eyes on their dazzling new stadium.
Nevertheless, the Crystal Palace Twitter account were over the moon with their latest discoveries, as they tweeted out a video including a report of their new stadium, labelling it as a new era for the club.
