There’s been a bit of a debate rumbling on all season with the Chelsea fans here in the Transfer Tavern.

Namely, most want to know why Nemanja Matic is playing ahead of Cesc Fabregas in the side when they feel the Spaniard is the far better player.

They reckon that there must be some kind of discord between the former Barcelona man and their new boss Antonio Conte, though there must be a more professional reason to it than that.

Meanwhile, they also think N’Golo Kante has been decent but could actually be adding a bit more to his game now.

Whilst the job he did for Leicester was all he needed to do the Blues fans want to see him start breaking down opposing defences.

It seems, then, that the central midfield positions in Conte’s team are still a work in progress and our landlord reckons he may be tempted to get a couple of reinforcements in to that position.

Here are the TWO names, then, that would be most suitable…..

Geoffrey Kondogbia

Conte obviously likes a powerful midfielder alongside N’Golo Kante because why else would he insist so often on having Nemanja Matic play in front of Cesc Fabregas?

The problem is, Matic isn’t the player he once was and so the Blues should be looking for a similar type player that can actually run.

Step forward Geoffrey Kondogbia, then, a real powerhouse that can get up and down the pitch – Chelsea can’t go wrong.

Jorginho

The Brazilian born Italy international is dynamite in midfield and has been a mainstay for Napoli so far this season.

He’s best as a holding player but he can play anywhere down the centre of the midfield and that would make him ideal to step into Chelsea’s midfield.

He has the ability to step out and play whilst he loves a battle too. He’s a big hit in Naples and would surely be at Stamford Bridge.
