Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are starting to get worried about their club’s planned transfer activity this summer, following reports they’ve read from the continent.
Blues boss Antonio Conte is keen to rejuvenate his attacking options this summer, with Diego Costa likely to leave after flirting with an exit from Stamford Bridge consistently during the past year.
That would leave Chelsea’s ranks significantly lacking in attack, as summer signing Michy Batshuayi has yet to excel in West London, so it’s no surprise to see the Blues heavily linked with the services of Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata.
However, Chelsea may struggle to get a deal over the line as Italian outlet Tuttosport states the Spaniard is keen on a return to Juventus, whom he left last summer when Zinedine Zidane’s side activated a buy-back clause in his contract.
Since returning to the Spanish capital last year, Morata has found regular opportunities difficult to come by and that’s led to a wealth of frustration on his part- which has intensified the likelihood of an exit this summer.
Our landlord feels Chelsea remain the best option for Morata though, as he believes he’d get more first-team football at the club than he would at Juventus – who of course boast Gonzalo Higuain in their ranks.
