New Coventry City signing Callum O’Hare has issued a short message on his exit from Premier League club Aston Villa.
The Bodymoor Heath academy graduate saw his time at Villa come to an end in June, leading to a discussion over a potential return to Coventry, having spent a successful campaign with the Sky Blues on loan last term.
With Mark Robins’ side set for a return to the Championship after gaining promotion via the automatic route from League One, O’Hare’s return was seen as a key bit of business for the club having seen him score four goals and provide seven assists during the 2019/2020 season.
Robins, who has been the man behind Coventry’s recent success, has been busy in the transfer market, bringing in Gustavo Hamer from PEC Zwolle and Julien Dacosta from Chamois Niortais. and now O’Hare, who is now the third signing of the summer for the Sky Blues.

Having penned a three-year contract with Coventry, the former Villa midfielder has touched on his decision to swap one Midlands side for another, having been offered multiple renewal terms from his boyhood club.
In a simple, four-word message, as quoted by Coventry LIVE, O’Hare put: “It was only right,” before going to later tweet about his return to the Sky Blues.

O’Hare is now expected to start pre-season training with Coventry in the coming days with the club’s first pre-season game coming on July 25 against Scottish Premiership side Rangers.

What a superb signing and statement made by Coventry to bring in Callum O’Hare, a player very much highly regarded and who showed his capabilities in his loan spell last term.
Villa fans must be confused as to why the club failed to agree a fresh deal with the player, but it certainly looks as though their loss will be the Sky Blues’ gain.
