Bristol City have joined Championship rivals Leeds United in the race to sign Coventry City defender Michael Rose.
Sky Blues manager Mark Robins will have a busy summer ahead after seeing his team gain promotion to the Championship.
Not only will Robins look to improve his side, but a number of in-form players could attract interest from elsewhere and one of the club’s most consistent performers in Rose is now being linked with an exit.
Coventry secured automatic promotion from League One recently and Rose played an important part in that success, with 31 League One appearances to his name as he helped the team to keep 13 clean sheets (as per Transfermarkt).
The 24-year-old defender has already been linked with Leeds United as Argentine tactician Marcelo Bielsa looks to improve his defensive options and potentially find a replacement for Ben White, who will return to parent club Brighton this summer.
Following Leeds’ interest is Bristol City, who sit just one point outside the play-off places as things stand in the Championship table.
Coventry LIVE also touch on the emerging interest of Bristol City, claiming manager Lee Johnson has attended St. Andrews this term to keep an eye on Rose.
One thing is for sure – Robins is going to have his work cut out this summer to keep his Sky Blues squad together. Such good form in League One was always like to see interest emerge in Coventry’s prized assets and Rose could certainly go on to play at a higher standard.
If Coventry are to survive in the Championship, however, they must ensure that adequate replacements are signed to make up for any players they lose.
