Our West Ham and Crystal Palace fans here in the Transfer Tavern both feel this season could have been better with the latter still worrying about a relegation battle.
Indeed, whilst the Hammers have recovered from a shocking start to proceedings, the Eagles are still in the mix above the drop-zone, though two recent wins will surely have bolstered their confidence.
Certainly, beating both Middlesbrough and West Brom has come at the perfect time and both London clubs should be planning to stick around in the top flight for next season.
Those plans, of course, remain to be seen but it appears that Newcastle forward Aleksandar Mitrovic is part of the pair’s – according to The Express at least.
They claim that the two sides from the capital have joined the race for the man from the north-east with him featuring very little for the Magpies at the moment.
The young Serbian forward is still highly thought of by many at the moment – even if Rafa Benitez doesn’t share such an opinion – and so could still turn out to be a classy player for whoever he joins.
