According to The Express, Crystal Palace and West Ham are looking into the possibility of signing Aleksandar Mitrovic from Newcastle United in the near future.
The news has been, in the main, welcomed by both our Eagles and Hammers fans here in the Transfer Tavern who both feel their teams are in dire need of another forward this season.
Whilst Palace signed Christian Benteke in the summer he has been hit and miss so far though his two goals at the weekend could prove a turning point.
Meanwhile, for West Ham, nothing has worked up front so far this season with the likes of Simone Zaza underwhelming significantly and the likes of Andy Carroll once again blighted by injury.
It looks as though both could go in for the Serbian, then, who has been in and out of the Magpies’ side thanks to the form of Dwight Gayle for the Championship table toppers.
He has still managed five goals from his limited playing time this year, though, and may benefit from a longer run in a team with our landlord thinking the Hammers could do with him most.
