The results were recently published by Crystal Palace for the ‘Best goal since CPFC 2010 bought the club’ and the winner of the vote has divided a lot of Palace fans.
Andros Townsend’s incredible volley from outside the box against Manchester City back in December 2018 as Crystal Palace went on to secure a shock 3-2 victory at the Etihad was announced as the winner, with good reason as it was also named as Premier League goal of the season last campaign, and some fans have expressed their joy that this goal won.
However, others debated whether a certain goal by Darren Ambrose should have won the vote. That absolute screamer was back in 2011 when the Eagles were still in the Championship and they had a tough away trip to reigning Premier League champions Manchester United in the League Cup, via BBC Sport. The London side’s first goal was a venomous strike from Ambrose which sailed into the top corner the the Eagles would eventually go on to win the match 2-1.
Here is what these fans said following the tweet:

Good goal and all…but Ambrose v Man Utd was a once in a lifetime goal that will be talked about for a lot longer than this.

All great goals. But Ambrose at Man U literally makes me laugh out loud every time I see it. Absolutely outrageous
