Crystal Palace have jumped up to tenth after earning seven points from the last three games, and a major factor in that has been their ability to keep three clean sheets. Vicente Guaita has been between the sticks for those three games and fans have clearly been impressed with his performances.
He was signed by the Eagles in summer 2018 from Getafe on a free transfer and has really come into his own this campaign, playing in 14 of his side’s 16 games so far in the league. The 32-year-old was praised by Squawka for his showing against Bournemouth at the start of December, when they said he “commanded his box” and “kept his nerve” to earn the clean sheet.
However, he was left out of EA Sports’ Team of the Week, so when the team was posted to Twitter, the official Palace page posted a picture of Guaita with his head in his hands. They clearly thought he deserved to be recognised for his efforts and so did many fans who replied to the tweet. They showed how annoyed they were at the snub and complimented the Palace account for their response.
