Our resident Eagles in the Tavern all have the same gripe with Roy Hodgson after Palace spurned a 2-0 lead at home Manchester United to see them stay in the relegation zone for another game week.
After Patrick Van Aanholt put the ball past David De Gea early in the second half it looked like the London club would snatch a famous win against United. However just 45 minutes later Chris Smalling, Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic condemned Palace to their 14th defeat of the season. Despite the performance levels in the first half from a number of Roy Hodgson’s men, it wasn’t to be for the former England, Liverpool and Inter Milan boss.
Although, a number of the Selhurst Park faithful have singled out a key reason as to why the club failed to hold onto their lead, the lack of substitutions. Manchester United had used all three subs with 20 minutes left to play, whilst Palace only made one change, swapping Jeffrey Schlupp for Jairo Riedewald on the 80-minute mark.
With that in mind, here’s the Palace fans’ verdict:
Palace were dead on their feet at the end yet Hodgson only used 1 sub. Got to give yourself a chance.

When players give their all, they get tired funnily enough. May not have effective subs but new legs are better than no legs. Make a sub!!

Can someone tell Roy that since 1965 teams have been allowed to make substitutions during a game. He may have forgotten this
