Many Palace fans have responded to a tweet which remembers the short spell of Steve Mandanda at Selhurst Park.

Rollback to 2016 and the Eagles picked up the French international on a free, expecting some international standard performances at Selhurst Park. Let’s just say things didn’t work out. Despite Palace fans very much getting behind the ‘keeper (as shown on HITC), he just didn’t fit in with the club; knee surgery keeping him out for 24 games certainly didn’t help.
The 34-year-old only managed nine league appearances for Palace, before he was sold back to Marseille for an undisclosed fee.
Mandanda has picked up an impressive 29 caps for his country, playing at least one match per year for his country for the last 11 years. While he did not play a match in France’s victorious World Cup campaign, he did come home with a winner’s medal.
Fan account @SWPalace tweeted about THE French ‘keeper with the caption ‘how weird was this?’.

Top class keeper. Great signings sometimes don’t work out for any number of reasons. He had injuries and didn’t settle in England.
