Crystal Palace: Fans excited as Roy Hodgson reveals positive injury update

A lot of Crystal Palace fans were pleased after manager Roy Hodgson revealed in his latest press conference that Jeffrey Schlupp, Mamadou Sakho and James Tomkins are all fully fit ahead of the Eagles’ fixture against relegation battling Watford this weekend.

All three players were regular starters in the team, especially Jeffrey Schlupp, who scored a crucial goal against AFC Bournemouth in a 1-0 victory in which Palace were playing with ten men for 65 minutes. The Midfielder ran about 15 yards before slotting the ball past the goalkeeper (Transfermarkt).

Sakho and Tomkins have missed large parts of the season due to various injuries, and Crystal Palace are very lucky that they have at least five players who can play in central defence, with Gary Cahill and Scott Dann currently in the side and keeping two clean sheets in the last two games (Transfermarkt). It will be interesting to see whether Hodgson sticks with last week’s pairing or if he puts Sakho and Tomkins back in the side.

Here is what some Palace fans have been saying about the positive injury news:
