Crystal Palace will move to address their goalscoring problems in January with a move for Jordon Ibe, according to Football Insider.
The Eagles have scored just 19 goals in 21 league games, only Watford have scored fewer (17). Despite this, Roy Hodgson’s side sit within the top half of the Premier League table, just eight points adrift of the top four.
However, looking at Transfermarkt, Ibe has struggled for game time this season, making just four appearances this season for Bournemouth. He’s also not contributed many goals since his move to the Vitality Stadium, scoring just five goals in his 92 appearances for the Cherries. Considering his £15m move, that sort of return surely means he can be considered a flop.
Football Insider’s report states that Ibe is now into the last six months of his contract, meaning the club may be willing to listen to offers for the former Liverpool man. In fact, he hasn’t featured for Eddie Howe’s side since their Carabao Cup defeat to Burton in September.
This news didn’t enthuse many Palace fans, here’s how some of them reacted to the news:
No, no, no

So we go for a player that can’t get into a Bournemouth team fighting relegation. Hopefully nothing in this one.

Cast offs from decent teams is one thing, but cast offs from Bournemouth? Nah mate, not for me. Next. Cheers

The real crisis at the Palace this morning is Steve Parish thinking Jordan Ibe is an adequate alternative to Wilfried Zaha… #CPFC #MeghanAndHarry

Would rather have had Sinclair than Ibe. #cpfc
