Crystal Palace fans on Twitter have responded to a post asking them to name their three favourite midfielders from the modern era – and not everyone took it so seriously.
The Twitter account @PalaceEaglesc0m asked its followers to pick their favourite three, to which floods of Palace fans weighed in with their shouts.
There was a huge variety of players on display, from modern greats such as Luka Milivojevic, Mile Jedinak, Yohan Cabaye, Darren Ambrose to a few more sillier suggestions such as Stuart O’Keefe, Andy Dorman, Owen Garvan, Jordan Mutch or even Jimmy Kebe.
Obviously it is very hard to answer such a subjective question with a right or wrong answer, however, by the nature of the answers you can tell who is having a bit of fun and who is not.
However, if we take a look at Palace’s ‘modern era’ as being back in the Premier League, the three most capped midfielders have been James McArthur, Jason Puncheon and Andros Townsend (premierleague.com) – though none have got a mention in the replies below.
Here are some of the best responses below…
