Crystal Palace: Fans give their thoughts on Danny Gabbidon

Many Crystal Palace fans are discussing former defender Danny Gabbidon after a page called PalaceEagles on Twitter opened up the debate on the player.

The 40 year-old ex-centre-back signed back in 2012 after having no club and made 38 appearances, whilst also managing to score 2 goals along the way, per Transfermarkt.

He only made 10 appearances during the club’s last Championship season back in 2012/13, but was surprisingly drafted in for all of their playoff fixtures including the final against Watford, which saw the club get promoted following a 1-0 victory, via BBC Sport.

In the Premier League, he was seen as a key player for the first season, playing 23 of the fixtures for club, per Transfermarkt, before he moved to Cardiff the following summer. However it was a remarkable renaissance for a player who was without a club before signing for the South London side. At the age of 40, he is now a pundit after retiring in 2015.
