Loads of Crystal Palace fans heaped praise on midfielder James McArthur after his side beat arch-rivals Brighton 1-0 at the Amex Stadium on Saturday.
The 32-year-old featured for the entire match as the Eagles got one over on their rivals from the south coast. Jordan Ayew scored the only goal of the game in the second half to ensure that the south London side earned the bragging rights.
After the game, McArthur took to Twitter (via @jamesmcarthur16) to wish the fans all the best after the win. The £5.4m-rated man (per Transfermarkt) put in a solid display and helped to keep the Seagulls’ attack quiet. He won two aerial duels out of three attempted, made two clearances and four successful tackles, which demonstrated his defensive sturdiness, as per SofaScore. As a result, supporters were delighted and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that he was the most underrated player at the club, while another simply described his performance as “incredible”.
