Crystal Palace: Fans love footage of Jay Rich Baghuelou

Crystal Palace U23 player Jay Rich Baghuelou has posted footage of his performances so far for the side and a lot of the fanbase feel like the club have a really good player on their hands.

The 20-year-old used to play for non-league side Welling United (via Crystal Palace), however Palace scouts were impressed and gave him a trial at the Eagles. Clearly he impressed as he joined their Academy in January 2020 and has been playing for the U23’s ever since. He has made eleven appearances so far and the video he posted shows the Australian’s highlights in this campaign.

The player could start to become a vital player if manager Roy Hodgson is impressed by him as the South London side’s squad was noted to be on average the second oldest in the Premier League at the start if this season, per 101greatgoals.

Palace’s defence is one of the main reasons that the average age of the squad is quite old, with current centre-back pairing Scott Dann and Gary Cahill 33 and 34 respectively, via Transfermarkt, whilst Mamadou Sakho and James Tomkins are 30, so Baghuelou could have the perfect opportunity to play in England’s top flight soon if he performs well in the academy.

Here is what fans had to say about the player – one described him as ‘class‘:
